Holistic Treatments At Westbourne
Alexander Technique
The Alexander Technique is a gentle yet powerful method that helps you become more aware of how you move, hold tension, and carry yourself in daily life. At Westbourne Medical Studios, this practice is offered as a holistic way to relieve discomfort, improve posture, and restore natural balance in both body and mind.
Through guided movements and mindful observation, our experienced practitioners work with you to unlearn unhelpful habits that may contribute to physical tension, stress, or pain—particularly in the neck, back, shoulders, and joints. This technique is often beneficial for those dealing with chronic pain, anxiety, postural issues, or simply seeking to move with greater ease and presence.
Each session is calm, one-to-one, and entirely focused on you. By developing awareness and poise, the Alexander Technique supports a more effortless connection between body and mind—enhancing your overall wellbeing in subtle but lasting ways.

Meet The Team
Sue Barclay
Alexander Technique Teacher and Yoga Teacher
I'm a qualified Alexander Technique teacher and Yoga teacher, and I've been sharing these practices with people of all ages since completing my four-year training with the Interactive Teaching Method Association in 2016. I currently teach Alexander Technique modules at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and offer one-to-one lessons and small group workshops.
I believe the Alexander Technique offers practical, life-changing tools for greater freedom, ease, and self-awareness. If the challenges we face are linked to habits we’ve developed over time, this method provides a gentle yet powerful way to create meaningful change. What I love most is how surprisingly simple and accessible it is—you can begin applying its principles from your very first session.
Yoga has been part of my life since I was a teenager. I trained with Ernest Coates and later studied under Sophy Hoare, a student of Vanda Scaravelli. My own practice deepened further when I began Alexander Technique lessons in 2007; I began to move with more freedom, and others noticed the shift too. I’m a Yoga Alliance certified teacher and offer personalised yoga sessions that are shaped around each student’s needs, abilities, and lifestyle.
In 2019, I became a licensed Dynamic Emotional Integration® (D.E.I.) Trainer and Consultant. This work—based on the research of Karla McLaren—explores the emotional patterns we hold in our bodies and how they can be released through mindful awareness and creative expression.
With a background in fine art, I bring a deep appreciation of the body, movement, and emotional expression to everything I do. I'm passionate about helping others feel better in their bodies and live with greater presence, ease, and authenticity.

Voice Analysis Frequency Prescription
Voice Analysis is an innovative therapeutic system that uses sound frequency analysis to support emotional and physical wellbeing. By recording and analysing the unique frequencies in your voice, the software generates personalised "Balance Files"—short audio tracks designed to promote harmony in the brain and body.
Rooted in decades of European research, this approach delivers bespoke frequencies through normal headphones or speakers, with sessions typically lasting no more than 15 minutes. The goal is to gently support the body’s self-healing mechanisms and improve emotional balance over time.
