Consultant Obstetrician and subspecialist in maternal and fetal medicine.
Dr Marie Anne Ledingham is a Consultant Obstetrician and Subspecialist in Maternal and Fetal Medicine. She is passionate about delivering patient centred care which is safe and based on the best evidence. She has over 30 years experience of working in the NHS having qualified from the University of Glasgow in 1992. She trained in various hospitals in the West of Scotland and was appointed as a Consultant in 2007. She is highly trained and experienced in fetal and maternal medicine and runs a dedicated multiple pregnancy clinic at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow where she undertakes her Obstetric practice. Her research and clinical interest in preterm labour led to her MD award in 2000 from the University of Glasgow and she maintains this interest in her clinical practice. She specialises in high risk obstetrics, maternal medicine, diabetes and complex fetal medicine problems.
She has a particular interest in clinical quality and evidence based care for women as a previous Chair of the RCOG Guidelines committee, a member of the Clinical Quality Assurance Group for the RCOG and the chair of the National Maternity Network Obstetrics Guideline oversight group. She is the lead for ultrasound training in Obstetrics for the West of Scotland and organises and teaches on various courses.
Dr Ledingham is able to provide consultations for ultrasound scans in early pregnancy, preterm labour assessment and fetal growth and wellbeing. She can also provide prepregnancy counselling, postnatal consultations, non-invasive prenatal testing and recurrent miscarriage investigations.
